Kram Medley

Kram Medley

DSC04241

Jamaican music lives on great stories and this is the story of Kram. The intrigue starts with him being named after his father in reverse. KRAM (Mark) ECIRUAM (Maurice) MEDLEY. The St. Catherine native has always loved music and started following sound systems in his teen years. He was particular to Bass Odyssey because the selectors were from his home community of De La Vega City in Spanish Town. When the selectors ‘Lenny’, ‘Glamma G’ and ‘Troyton’ split from Bass Odyssey to form Amplex, he remained loyal as his personality dictates and followed the new sound. Sound Systems are the genesis of Dancehall, the space and genre in Jamaica and Kram is all about music. Even as he graduated high school he was already a student of the music business.

With Ainsley “Notnice” Morris as his school mate and friend he was present as those production skills were being honed and heightened. It’s no wonder then, that Kram is the Business Side of the Notnice Music Brand, joining forces with Ainsley Morris in 2016 as 50/50 partner in Notnice Records – music production house and artiste management company. Kram manages the business, the producer of the same name and all the acts under the brand. 2016 was impressive for Notnice Records. There was collaboration with dancehall’s top acts on a number of projects. 2017 was also successful with the release of the “El Chapo” riddim which included songs from Masicka and Popcaan. The imprint was further expanded with the signing of two dancehall acts; Jah Vinci, new-comer Jafrass & female singer Nordia Mothersille. In August of 2019 Kram executive produced the highly anticipated album “Kyng Midas”- available everywhere you stream. He executive produced on ‘Virgin’ – Jah Vinci’s YouTube #1 streaming song in 2021,
‘Passion’ and Jafrass’ EP ‘Faith’

He is also a 2022 Grammy-nominated producer for Spice’s ’10’ album which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart. Additionally, he won the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for his work on Julian Marley’s and Antaeus’ ‘Colors of Royal’. Kram’s dedication to the music is evident in his collaborations with Jamaican high school student bands, aimed at developing the reggae and keeping the music alive. His vision for Notnice Records is to establish it as a premier entertainment brand that promotes and grows Jamaican music
