Jah Vinci

Jah Vinci

Born Andre Kirk Rhoden in the August Town community of Kingston, Jamaica, Jah Vinci grew up in a musical family of six (6). Music was always a huge part of his life as both parents were singers. Jah Vinci grew up in church and it was here that his talent was discovered. The church was his training ground for writing songs and performing at large events. Jah Vinci’s life was touched by tragedy when he lost a brother to a violent crime in 2005. He used this tragedy as his motivation to create a better life for himself and his family through his music. https://youtu.be/R164r6awtc4 For many years Jah Vinci struggled to launch his musical career, with no success. Through a mutual friend in 2008, he was introduced to Adijah Palmer, aka “Vybz Kartel”. The Portmore Empire Boss, impressed with his talent, gave the artiste a strength with launching his career. Subsequently Jah Vinci began releasing several hits on the dancehall scene starting with the Vybz Kartel collaboration “Weh Dem A Guh”. This was one of the most popular hits at that time, which was then followed by a slew of other bangers like “Watch Yuh Frenz”, on the Remand Riddim which was his first number 1 hit, and “Birthday” https://youtu.be/1BJY8LqmjrA which was done in memory of his deceased brother. The releases of “Money” on the storyteller riddim, “Mama Love” on the Eternal Riddim, and singles like… “Guide Me”, “Tru Mi Know”, “Feel a Way” [ft blak Ryno], “In My Life”, and many more soon followed! Throughout his career, Jah Vinci has also collaborated with several top artistes and producers. These included Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Blak Ryno, Aidonia, Mavado, and in most recent times Jafrass, Quada and international R&B/Pop sensation YK Osaris.

Jah Vinci’s appealing brand of Dancehall/ Reggae is characterized by his versatile vocals which can deliver a soothing sound for the ladies as in the song “Baby Girl I’m Alone” and just as convincingly deliver the militancy of the hit “Remedy”. Despite launching a successful career, Jah Vinci wasn’t totally satisfied with the direction and wanted to make music that not only made his fans feel good, but also positively inspire, uplift and motivate them. The artiste separated himself from the Vybz Kartel led Portmore Empire in 2011
and went on to start his own brand “Out Clear Movement”.

In October of 2018 he collaborated with rising dancehall artiste “Quada” and producer “Notnice”, also a former member of Kartel’s “Portmore Empire”, on a track titled “Celebration” which made great strides locally and internationally. Jah Vinci went on to sign with Notnice Records in late 2019 and dropped the singles https://youtu.be/AKt_p8_tMRY “Heart Too Clean” and “If They Know” featuring Jafrass. Later that year he featured on the critically acclaimed Kyng Midas Album produced by the standout label. The December 2020 release of his debut EP, “I Am The World Singer”, set the tone for 2021 with the lead track ‘Virgin’ – being the YouTube #1 streaming song in that year. https://youtu.be/nPsntkvrc54. He followed up with his signature raw passion and truth, on the ‘Passion’ album released December 17th of 2021.
